Edie was there.

11. Oktober 2011
When I first knew Andy they were working on the Marilyn Monroes. Malanga and Billy Name did most of the work. Cutting things. Placing the screens. Andy would walk along the rows and ask, „What color do you think would be nice?“
ISABEL EBERSTADT
Paul Morrissey was the first person to say outright to Warhol: „I am your disciple.“ Nobody else involved with Warhol would think of saying it that way because Andy was the queen of passivity…the absolute son of non-existence. He was just divinely not there. Morrissey sold him a bill of goods…the commercial shit.
ONDINE
When Edie entered the Factory scene, I thought it was nice that the Cambridge boys had imported their own private princess. It seemed a nice transfer of domain because, before that, she’d just been a Cambridge legend. She was rich, glamorous, beautiful, and she was instantly adored.
Edie was the First Lady and Andy’s prime companion, so there was an on-going struggle for her favor and attention…a rivalry for her affection. She was the greatest of the superstars.
DANNY FIELDS
It was the high point in Edie’s career. She was the girl on fire with the silver hair close to her head, the eyes, the Viceroy in her fingers, the sleeves rolled up, those legs, yoicks!…all you saw was her!
RENÉ RICARD
One night, when the parties were over, I guess she didn’t want to sleep with somebody, so she asked me to share a room with her. She always had to have her glass of hot milk and a cigarette in one hand. In her sleep her hands kept crawling; they couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t keep my eyes off them. She kept scratching with them. Perhaps she just had bad dreams…I don’t know, it was really sad.
ANDY WARHOL
It must have had an effect on Andy – Edie leaving him for Dylan, or whoever. He was probably in love with Edie, with all of us -  a sexless kind of love, but he would take up your whole life so that you had no time for any other man. When Edie left with Grossman and Dylan, that was betrayal, and he was furious…a lover betrayed by his mistress.
